She Couldn’t Fit in a Plane Seat—Then She Posted Her Old Photos and Fans Lost It

A young woman recently gained massive attention when she spoke out about her struggle to fit into an airplane seat, calling on airlines to update their planes for more modern body types. After people speculated that she’d had plastic surgery, she shared old photos of herself, which only added fuel to the debate.

Gracie Bon, a popular social media star from Panama, went viral after posting a video of herself trying to buckle up on a plane. The video shows her discomfort and struggle to fit into the cramped seat, and it quickly spread across social media. Her experience resonated with countless people.

Even though she had booked a first-class ticket for extra comfort, the problem remained the same. The seats were still too small for her curvy figure.

This led Gracie to make a strong statement. She called for airlines to create larger seats, saying it shouldn’t be her responsibility to change her body to fit into them.

Her bold stance received a mixed response. Some praised her for advocating for plus-sized individuals, while others were quick to criticize. One commenter wrote, “Why not just buy two seats instead of one? You clearly have the money.” Another added, “You’ve had surgery, so who’s really at fault?”

Despite the criticism, many people supported Gracie. One fan said, “I completely agree. I also need a bigger seat and a more comfortable seatbelt.” Another backed her up, stating, “She’s only had a tummy tuck. Her hips are naturally this large.”

People speculated that her body proportions were due to plastic surgery, but Gracie stood firm, insisting her curves were natural. She demanded the airline industry adapt to accommodate all body types.

Gracie later revealed that she had undergone surgery after losing weight to remove excess skin. She shared old photos of herself, mentioning that she used to weigh 300 lbs (136 kg).

At 21, she decided to focus on her health. She started working out and taking care of her body because her weight was causing health issues like knee pain and breathing problems.

Gracie successfully lost 100 lbs (45 kg) and has been open about the surgeries she had to deal with excess skin. She’s proud of her journey and advocates for body positivity, believing that all body types are valid and beautiful. Her message is clear: everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin.

Gracie was upfront about her tummy tuck and shared before-and-after photos. She added that her hips are naturally large and haven’t been altered.

She responded to critics by saying, “People tell me, ‘If you loved your body, you wouldn’t have changed anything.’ The truth is, I loved my body enough to take care of it. I didn’t like my knee pain, my breathing issues, or the rejection from my ex. So I did what I had to do to feel better.”

Some followers still had questions, asking how she lost weight in specific areas like her upper body and face. Gracie has yet to respond to these.

It’s clear that body positivity is gaining momentum, and stories like Gracie’s are becoming more common. Plus-size model Paloma Elsesser was even named Model of the Year for 2023, further proving that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
